How it works

  1. Choose a deck, or mix them

The deck below shuffles questions from all four. Switch a deck off to leave it out, or open one deck for its full set and its own levels.

  2. Read one out loud

Draw a card and read it to your partner. Let them answer fully, then answer it yourself: every question works both ways.

  3. Follow the good ones

When an answer surprises you, stay with it and ask what happened next. The follow up is usually better than the next card.

  4. Save and send

Tap the heart on cards worth keeping. Send the deck, or just your saved picks, to your partner as a link.

Frequently asked questions

What are good questions to ask your partner?

Questions that ask for a story rather than a fact. “Which friendship changed the direction of your life?” goes further than “What’s your favorite movie?” The four decks here are written that way, and each is split into levels so you can match the question to the mood you are in.

Which deck should we start with?

For a light evening, start with the fun questions. To get to know someone, the boyfriend and girlfriend decks open with easy Light cards. When you have time and a quiet room, the deep questions deck runs from gentle to deepest.

Do the boyfriend and girlfriend decks only work for one kind of couple?

No. They are named for how people search, but every question works for any couple, and you can ask any of them either way round. Use whichever deck has the mood you want.

Can we use these over text or on a call?

Yes. Copy any card into your chat, or send your partner the deck link so you can each draw on your own phone. On a call, one of you reads and you both answer.

Is it free, and is anything saved?

It is free with no account and nothing to install. Cards you heart are saved in this browser on this device only, and nothing you draw or say is sent anywhere.

Looking for something else?

Try couple games: would you rather, never have I ever, this or that and truth or dare, for when you want a game instead of a talk.
