1. Introduction

Welcome to Twogle ("we," "our," or "us"). Twogle is operated by Dotzero Technologies Private Limited. We are committed to protecting your privacy and the security of the personal information you share with us when you use the Twogle mobile application, the Twogle Check-In service, this website, and any related services (collectively, the "Service").

This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why we collect it, how we store and protect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. We've tried to write this without legal jargon wherever the law allows. Where a section reuses a term of art (for example, "controller", "processor", "personal data"), we have used the meanings defined in India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation. If you are reading this from outside India, additional local privacy laws may apply to you; this policy describes the highest baseline we apply globally.

By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If anything here is unclear or if you disagree with any part of it, please stop using the Service and contact us using the details in Section 10 before continuing.

2. Information We Collect

Personal Information You Provide

We collect personal information that you voluntarily give us in the course of using Twogle. This includes information you enter at sign-up (your name, email address, age range, and your partner's name if you choose to share it), your authentication credentials, the relationship context you provide when setting up your couple profile (relationship length, living situation, the goals you have for the two of you), and the content you write inside the app — your messages in the quiet personal chat, the shared chat with your partner, your responses to daily prompts, and your notes from the activities you complete. If you reach out to support, the contents of your support request and any attachments you include are also stored alongside your account.

Usage and Device Data

We automatically collect a small set of technical data when you use the Service, so that we can operate it reliably and improve it over time. This includes the device type, operating system version, and app version you are using, anonymised identifiers needed to prevent abuse and tie crashes to bug reports, the in-app features you interact with (without the contents of those interactions), the approximate region inferred from your IP address (we do not store precise location unless you grant explicit permission for a feature that requires it), and standard server logs for incoming requests, including timestamps and error codes.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect biometric data, financial account details (payments are handled by Razorpay, App Store, or Play Store; we receive only the confirmation, not your card details), or sensitive demographic categories beyond what you choose to share in your relationship context. We do not buy data about you from data brokers, and we do not enrich your profile from external advertising or social-graph datasets.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for a small, defined set of purposes, all of which are necessary to provide the Service you have signed up for or are based on a legitimate interest you would reasonably expect from a relationship app:

  • To operate the core product. Routing your messages between the quiet and shared chats, generating your daily prompts, surfacing the right activity at the right moment, and saving your progress so your partner sees a continuous shared timeline.
  • To personalise your experience. Tailoring AI coaching responses to your specific relationship context, choosing prompts that fit your situation, and adapting the tone of the app to your preferences.
  • To keep the Service safe. Detecting abuse, fraud, account compromise, and patterns of distress that warrant a safety-resource pointer (we never replace clinical care, but we do surface helplines where appropriate).
  • To improve the product over time. Understanding which features land and which don't, fixing bugs, and prioritising the roadmap. We use aggregated, anonymised data wherever possible for this purpose.
  • To communicate with you. Sending you transactional email (your reading from a tool, a Check-In confirmation), optional weekly notes if you have subscribed, and notices about important changes to the Service or to this policy. You can unsubscribe from any non-transactional message with one tap.

We do not use your information for behavioural advertising, and we do not share it with advertising networks. Twogle has no ads.

4. Data Security

Relationship data is among the most sensitive data we could be entrusted with, and we treat it that way. The protections we apply include:

  • Encryption in transit. All traffic between your device and our servers uses TLS 1.2 or higher. The same applies to any traffic between our servers and the third-party providers listed in Section 6.
  • Encryption at rest. Sensitive fields, including your chat messages and your relationship context, are encrypted at rest in our databases. Backups are encrypted with the same key hierarchy.
  • Strict access controls. Only a small number of Twogle engineers have administrative access to production systems. Every administrative action is logged, attributable to an individual, and reviewed. We do not read your chats; the engineering tools we use to debug incidents redact message contents by default.
  • Regular reviews. We conduct internal security reviews of our infrastructure and dependencies. Major architectural changes go through a privacy impact assessment before they ship.
  • Vulnerability response. If you believe you have found a security issue, please email privacy@twogle.app with the words "Security report" in the subject; we will respond within 72 hours and work with you on remediation.

No system is perfectly secure, and we do not promise one. We promise to behave responsibly, to notify affected users without unreasonable delay if a breach affecting their data occurs, and to keep improving the security posture of the Service over time.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers. We share data only in the limited circumstances below:

  • With your partner, when you choose to. The shared chat and shared activities are, by design, visible to your partner inside the app. Your quiet personal chat is never shared with them.
  • With service providers we rely on to operate the Service. These include our cloud hosting provider, our database provider, our email-delivery provider, our payment processor (Razorpay for India, Stripe / app-store rails for other regions), and the AI providers listed in Section 6. Each of these is bound by a written contract that limits how they may use your data, requires them to apply equivalent security standards, and prohibits onward sale.
  • With your explicit consent. If you ask us to share information with a specific recipient — for example, exporting your data to another service — we will do so with your permission.
  • To comply with legal obligations. We respond to lawful, properly scoped requests from competent authorities. Where we are legally permitted to notify you of such a request before complying, we will.
  • In the event of a business transition. If Twogle or Dotzero Technologies is acquired or otherwise undergoes a change of control, your data may be transferred to the successor entity. Any such transfer will be subject to the same privacy commitments described in this policy, and we will notify you in advance.

6. Third-Party AI Services

Twogle uses third-party artificial intelligence services to power its AI coaching features. Before any data is shared with these services, we obtain your explicit in-app consent. The following providers receive data only when you have agreed to AI data sharing:

Anthropic, PBC (Claude)

We use Anthropic's Claude AI model to generate AI coaching responses and relationship guidance within the app.

Data sent to Anthropic:

  • Your messages and conversation history with the AI coach
  • Your name and your partner's name
  • Relationship details (type, length, living situation)
  • Your goals and relationship context

Purpose: Generating personalised AI coaching responses and relationship guidance.

Anthropic's privacy policy: anthropic.com/privacy

OpenAI, LLC (GPT-4o mini & Moderation API)

We use OpenAI's models for content safety monitoring and intelligent message routing within the app.

Data sent to OpenAI:

  • Message content (for safety filtering and moderation)
  • Anonymised routing signals

Purpose: Content safety detection, moderation, and message routing.

OpenAI's privacy policy: openai.com/privacy

Model Training

Your data is not used to train AI models. Both Anthropic and OpenAI process your data under API agreements that prohibit the use of customer data for model training purposes.

Data Protection

  • All data is transmitted to AI providers over encrypted connections (TLS)
  • Data is processed on our secure servers before being sent to AI providers
  • Your individual conversations are never shared with your partner
  • You can use Twogle without enabling AI features — consent is optional

Data Deletion

If you wish to request deletion of data that has been processed by our AI providers, please contact us at privacy@twogle.app. We will coordinate deletion with the relevant providers in accordance with their data retention policies and applicable law.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights over the personal data we hold about you. These rights apply globally; users in India, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and several other jurisdictions also have statutory equivalents.

  • Access. You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. We will provide it in a portable, machine-readable format within 30 days of a verified request.
  • Correction. If any data we hold about you is inaccurate or out of date, you can correct it in-app (for profile fields) or by writing to us (for fields not directly editable).
  • Deletion. You can delete your account and all associated personal data at any time, either by using the in-app account-deletion flow or by submitting a request via our delete-account page. Once deletion is confirmed, we remove your data from production systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days, except for the minimal records we are legally required to retain (for example, payment records for tax compliance).
  • Portability. You can export the content you have created inside the app — your messages, your activity history, your notes — to a JSON file you can take elsewhere.
  • Objection and restriction. You can object to specific uses of your data (for example, you can disable AI features and continue using the app without them) or ask us to restrict processing while a request is being reviewed.
  • Withdraw consent. Where we rely on your consent (for example, AI features or non-transactional email), you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
  • Lodge a complaint. If you believe we have mishandled your data, you may complain to your local data-protection authority. In India, that is the Data Protection Board established under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 10. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request, to protect your account from impersonation.

8. Children's Privacy

Twogle is intended for adults in a romantic relationship and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@twogle.app and we will delete the data and the associated account promptly. We may also apply additional age-verification measures where required by local law.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the Service evolves, as laws change, or as our practices improve. When we make a change, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and for material changes — for example, the introduction of a new AI provider, a change to the categories of data we collect, or a change to the legal basis for processing — we will notify you in-app and, where reasonable, by email before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after such a notice constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree to a change, you can delete your account before the new policy takes effect.
